Sony box brings Google TV to Britain

Apple TV rival to cost £200; Blu-ray edition inbound
The Google TV set, called the NSZ-GS7, allows customers to browse the internet through their sets as well as use a range of specially-made applications.
The set-top box, positioned as a rival to Apple TV, will be released in the UK this July. It will come with a dual-sided remote that boasts a full Qwerty keyboard. It can also be controlled via Android smartphones.
Sony, which manufactures the device, will ship to retailers in Canada, Australia, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Brazil and Mexico.
It will mark the first time Google TV will be commercially available outside the US.
Sony said it will follow-up on the NSZ-GS7 with an enhanced version featuring a Blu-ray player.
"Entertainment content is available through so many channels and sites, and Google TV helps consumers easily find what they want to watch, listen to or play with the freedom of the internet and using the familiar Chrome search engine technology," said Sony marketing head Gildas Pelliet.
